Do you know Jean Leon? The winemaker with the most epic story ever? From escaping his parents and sneaked illegally on a boat to America to become a cab driver in New York. To starting a restaurant in Hollywood with James Dean (La Scala) and preparing Marilyn Monroe’s last dish.. No other winemaker can say he managed all of this before starting a winery in the Penedes region. And as the Penedes region is famous for their sparkling wines, Jean wanted to make still wines.. of the best quality.

To get the dutch wine drinker know this story we decided to do a activation at a dutch festival. We hired the same big yellow cab as he drove in New York and placed it in front of the entrance of the festival. We dressed a team of hosts and hostesses in the same outfit as Jean Leons waiters in La Scala and set up a chic black velvet bar around the taxi.

When the guests entered the festival, they were welcomed by the La Scala team handing over a glass of Jean Leon’s Chardonnay. At the same time they told the life story of Jean Leon to all the visitors that were entering the festival. After this moment they were able to get a picture at the Photo Booth were we displayed all kinds of Hollywood props to take a picture in front of the Jean Leon wall.
